MLB.com | Bryan Hoch: After a lengthy stint on the IL, an ill-fated comeback and a return to the IL, Miguel Andujar is going under the knife. Andujar will undergo season-ending shoulder surgery on Monday. Andujar originally hurt his shoulder diving into a base in March. While Gio Urshela has been a pleasant surprise, there’s no way around it – the Yankees are losing a top bat in Andujar.
SNY | Andy Martino: Giancarlo Stanton’s status is, well, a mystery. After a head-scratching press conference where Aaron Boone provided little information on Stanton’s status, the Yankees went out to acquire Kendrys Morales to take some of his DH reps. However, the Yankees say they are still not concerned with Stanton long-term. He is facing live pitching and making slow but steady progress to a comeback.
NJ.com | James Kratch: James Paxton is on his way back to a faster return than originally anticipated. Paxton said he feels no pain in his knee and that everything “feels great.” Paxton will wear a knee brace indefinitely, and may gear up for a rehab start before his Bronx return.
