Richard Gere says President Donald Trump is “like a game show person” with “no center.” Speaking in Berlin, Gere also said that some Americans look to German Chancellor Angela Merkel as “the voice of reason.” (Feb. 10)
Richard Gere is a dad again at age 69.
Nearly two decades after the arrival of his first child, the “Pretty Woman” star welcomed a baby boy with wife Alejandra Silva, 35, his rep confirmed to USA TODAY.
The bouncing baby boy, whose name hasn’t yet been revealed, was born last week in New York, joining Gere’s 19-year-old son Homer and Silva’s 6-year-old son Albert from previous marriages.
The couple tied the knot last April. It’s Gere’s third marriage, following his nuptials to supermodel Cindy Crawford and actress Carey Lowell, who is Homer’s mother. This is Silva’s second marriage; she was previously wed to Govind Friedland.
Gere and Silva, a Spanish activist, announced they were expecting their first child together in September by way of an Instagram post of the Dalai Lama blessing her baby bump. (Gere is a Tibetan Buddhist.)
“A very special moment just a few minutes ago … Getting blessings for our precious to come,” Silva wrote on the now-deleted posted, adding an explanation for the late announcement. “We couldn’t say it before telling HH Dalai Lama.”
In December, Silva posted another picture of her bump, adding “I’m so happy.”
